What is all the fuss about Google Page Rank. Well the Google Page Rank is a status symbol to Internet Marketers. The page Rank Google assigns to your pages tells Internet Marketers whether your site is worthy to advertise on. Whether it is worthy to link to. Wether anyone cares about your site.

Backlinks are more important than recipricol links. While both are important getting your site listed on a web site that you don’t have to link back to is more important in regards to Page Rank. A your web link on a site you don’t link back to is a Backlink.

As a status symbol or as a draw for more traffic there are lots of schools of thought on the importance of backlinks. For me I want a better Page Rank rather than a lesser one. To improve your page rank you need backlinks. How do you get those backlinks? You beg for them in some respects. You state your case to other websites, “why it is important for them to link to you.” This is a tough sell if you have a new web site and no status as a web site builder. It can be done but it is difficult.

An Affiliate Program: This is an awesome way to drive traffic, plus generate sales but it comes with issues regarding backlinks. Affiliates will cloak your links so that your actual domain doesn’t appear on their web site. You need lots of affiliates to make an impact. You need to be able to manage your own affiliate software on your own domain.

Directory Submission: You can submit to hundreds of search engine friendly directories. Your site will go through a review process. Some will post your site others won’t. It is a time consuming but worthwhile process if you are in need of backlinks. If you have the funds there are also several submission services that will do the job for you.

Article Submission: Submitting articles to thousands of article directory sites will get you instant backlinks. Submit often there is no guarantee how long your articles will stay on the sites. Write good articles because web sites don’t publish bunk. Publish to as many sites as possible or use a good article submission tool to do it for you.

Three Way or Triangle links: If you are fortunate to have a couple of sites this is an awesome way to get some backlinks. This is a win, win for you and your backlink exchange partner. To do this, ask your link partner to place your link to your main site on their web site. You will in turn put their link on your secondary site. This way you each have a backlink not a reciprocal link. Backlinks are more powerful in the eyes of the Google Page Rank than the reciprocal link. Be sure to evenly distribute the links from your main site to your secondary site so both of your sites get backlinks. This way you will have two sites with high pr and lots of backlinks.
